The Breakin’ Convention festival’s workshop programme is a hot house of technique, challenge and creativity. This is your opportunity to hone your technique or try dance for the first time, learning from some of the best hip hop, house and funk style dancers from across the globe.

Les Twins Style

Les Twins are two of hip hop dance’s most recognisable faces. Their unique style and distinctive movement have earned them numerous titles including the Juste Debout World Championships in 2011 as well many high-profile performances and appearances including touring with Beyonce since 2011. This masterclass will explore their trademark style and movement.

Artist: Breaking Conditioning in Association with Dance UK

Take part in a specialised conditioning seminar created for the needs of street style dancers. While dance is as demanding as any sport, comparatively there is a lack of knowledge in strength and conditioning training. Understanding the professional approach to training is key to improving physical performance and therefore essential to reaching new levels in dance and expression. Threading

Threading is a dance concept where you create physical openings and go through them with other body parts. The concept is developed by breakers but currently explored in many different dance styles.

In this workshop Justin will work different principles within the language of threading, learn multiple combination and explore the possibilities of the body through improvisation exercises.

ILL-Abilities offers dance workshops geared towards advanced dancers and amateur dancers. Members of the crew have years of experience teaching the fundamentals of this dance. Their methods on adapting movement focus on every participant’s individual strength. ILL-Abilities believes everyone should have the opportunity to dance and express themselves.

These workshops are not only based on discovering movement but are also proved to help build one’s confidence through team activities and challenging individuals to surpass perceived limitations by discovering their own capabilities.
