Born in South Africa’s township Katlehong during the apartheid era, Pantsula tells stories through movement.

This dance style involves fast-paced footwork, hand gestures, voice and an improvisational style. Led by teacher Buru Mohlabane, these workshops will introduce you to the basics of the dance.

Buru is Artistic Director of the company Via Katlehong, who have been creating work since 1992 and have taken Pantsula to the world.

This is a beginner’s level workshop for all age groups – no dance experience needed.

You will need to wear boots or trainers for this workshop.
