English National Ballet School Summer Performance 2022
Join English National Ballet School for a mesmerising evening of dance from its talented young students.
English National Ballet School’s annual Summer Performance is a wonderful opportunity to see the next generation of ballet stars display their talent on stage. In this specially curated programme students from across the School’s three year-groups will showcase their artistry, skill and versatility, performing some of the most famous classical ballets alongside newly commissioned contemporary works.
The programme includes Sir Frederick Ashton’s Rhapsody, originally created for The Queen Mother’s 80th birthday and now performed by the Third Year graduating students during The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Alongside this will be a new work, Grace and Gravity, created for the Second Year students by the School’s Artistic Associate Andrew McNicol, as well as an extract from August Bournonville’s Ponte Molle and a character work by Amanda Maxwell performed by the First Year students.
One of the UK’s most innovative dance companies, Alleyne Dance will create a new piece for the Third Year students that will blend West African, Caribbean and Hip Hop dance in a physically powerful, yet graceful performance. While the First and Second Year students will perform a new contemporary work by Emily Gunn.
The performance on Sunday 3 July will be followed by a Graduation Ceremony. Attendance to the Graduation Ceremony will be by invitation only.
