Lit by white flashlight, four young people lie in a tangle on the ground, as if flopped after a night of clubbing, looking towards us with a direct gaze. They wear fantastical clothes and make up, embellished with beads and sequins; one has hair in punky orange spikes and a costume of green leaf-shapes.

Wild Card returns with a new generation of artists invited to curate their own night. This summer, we welcome Livia Rita with her Wild Card, FUTURA Glitch.

Experience the cross-pollination of musicians, designers, dancers, writers, thinkers, and activists in this non-human night. Livia creates her own mythology, populating the Lilian Baylis Studio with unearthly creatures that build bridges between worlds. There will be ritualistic spells cast to help us heal and grow our superpowers to shift our fears and desires.

You may enter fearful but will no-doubt leave with a fresh perspective as you dance your path through this blossoming soft rave in utopia, having briefly escaped our increasing precarious reality.

Join us before the show in the Fox Garden Court Café from 7.15pm onwards to meet the Coven and stay after the performance to enjoy live music.

FUTURA Glitch features mystic eco-pop from Livia Rita’s debut album FUGA FUTURA – delve into her entrancing world of fantasy-horror where nature rebels and magic surrounds.

Non-human subjects, both cosmic and earthly, have gate-crashed the party, and they are here to stay. In this unprecedented situation it seems increasingly strange for dramaturgy to follow ordinary coordinates, as though ‘the human’ weren’t in the process of losing its centre-stage position. If there is a twenty-first century avant-garde, it is not human-led.AUGUSTO CORRIERI
