Peacock Theatre Visual guide
This visual story is intended to help prepare you for your visit to Peacock Theatre.
Peacock Theatre is Sadler’s Wells’ home for entertainment in the heart of London’s West End.
The theatre is located on Portugal Street in Holborn, London.
You will walk down Portugal Street to get to Peacock Theatre. Look out for this sign. This signposts the theatre entrance.
This is the front door of the theatre. You will walk through here and into the foyer.
Inside the main entrance of the theatre is the foyer. You can wait here before the show begins.
There is a lift you can take to get to the foyer.
When you come into the foyer, there is a toilet on the left of the entrance.
Here is the Ticket Office where you may come to buy or collect your tickets for the show, and where our team can answer any questions you might have.
There are three levels – the foyer, dress circle and stalls. At Peacock Theatre, you come downstairs to get to the dress circle and stalls.
You may wish to take the stairs or the lift to get to the dress circle or stalls. The lift is situated to the right of the main foyer. There is a lift attendant to assist you with using the lift.
There is a seating area before you enter the auditorium in the dress circle and stalls where you can relax before, during and after the show.
You can find a bar on both the dress circle and stalls levels. Here you may like to buy food and drinks before the show and during the interval (if there is an interval).
The entrances to the auditorium are found on both the left and right hand sides of the bar in dress circle and stalls.
There is a lift to get to the entrances of the auditorium you can use too.
This is the auditorium. This is where the show will take place. The auditorium seats approximately 1,000 people.
Our friendly team of ushers will check your ticket and will be happy to help you to find the right entrance and locate your seat.
There are toilets in both the dress and stalls levels. There is an accessible toilet in the foyer area and at the stalls level.
After the show finishes, the lights in the auditorium come back on and everyone will leave. If you prefer, you are welcome to wait in your seat and leave after everyone else has gone and it becomes quieter.
